NIC to offer free assistance completing financial aid applications

Six free drop-in sessions to assist current and future students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be held on North Idaho College’s Coeur d’Alene campus this fall. The first session is Monday, Oct. 5, from 5-7 p.m.

North Idaho College will host six events to offer current and future students, parents, families and adult learners free one-on-one assistance completing financial aid applications.

Drop-in sessions to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be at the Meyer Health and Sciences Building, 521 N. College Drive, Room 143, at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus, including:

  • Monday, Oct. 5, 5-7 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6-8 p.m.;
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m.;
  • Thursday, Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m.;
  • Friday, Nov. 6, 3-6 p.m.; and
  • Wednesday, Nov. 11, 3-7 p.m., combined FAFSA/Idaho LAUNCH assistance.

“Financial aid can make college more accessible, and we want students to know that there are resources available to help,” said Kelly Lyons, NIC Financial Aid Director.

All students should bring their photo identification. Attendees should also bring their Federal Student Aid IDs or the information needed to create them, 2025 federal tax information and any additional financial documents needed to complete the FAFSA.

The sessions are open to anyone planning to attend college. Staff will be available to answer questions about financial aid and available funding opportunities.
